Gouves Water Park Resort
Gouves Waterpark can be found 18 km east of Heraklion on the popular island of Crete, and is fast becoming a sought after spot for wedding destinations. There is Kato Gouves (lower Gouves) and Pano Gouves (upper Gouves) which is actually built in the side of a small mountain with spectacular views. This beautiful waterpark resort has a lot to offer with plenty of things to keep you occupied, but if you wanted to venture further afield, try the fabulous beaches that are a mixture of open sand beaches and private coves, where you have the sea on one side and the stunning mountains on the other. If you like history then next to Gouves is the Skoteinos cave, a 150 metres deep, chambers on four levels, and with artefacts dating from the Minoans to the Romans, it is said to be one of the most interesting caves in Crete. For the hikers there is the Asposelemis Gorge, a wonderful two and a half hours hike through a variety of trees and wildlife, with the canyons walls 200 metres high in places, it makes for dramatic scenery.
No matter what wedding style you are looking for, Gouves Waterpark is the perfect choice for your big day. Whether you choose the Smile Seaside Bar & Restaurant just steps away from the golden beach, where you and your guests can listen to the waves lapping the shore, or the A la carte Restaurant, where you and your guests can feast on a gourmet banquet. Perhaps you prefer a traditional Greek Meze menu to celebrate your big day. The accommodation at this resort is vast with a wide choice of types of rooms, and can easily accommodate large family groups or your wedding entourage. There is a spa on site where natural products are used by experienced therapists with a holistic approach. Treat yourself to a “Cretan Signature Treatment Collection”, a unique treatment using honey, wild Cretan herbs and olive oil, and feel totally relaxed in readiness for your big day.
Gouves waterpark literally has everything under one roof, so it is the perfect choice for a wedding venue where all your family and friends can spend time together, exploring and having fun as well as celebrating your wedding day. The food is authentic, the staff are attentive and the accommodation is superb.
