How much does a Cyprus wedding cost?

The price of your wedding will depend entirely on the venue you choose, the size of your party and any additional extras you choose. The cost of a Cypriot wedding, however, can average less than a quarter of the cost of the average wedding in the UK – plus you get the benefit of guaranteed sunshine! Our specialists will be able to give you a much clearer idea of price once you have discussed your requirements with them, and will work closely with you to stick to your budget.

Where do I start with booking a wedding in Cyprus?

Our Cyprus wedding experts know the location well and can answer any questions you might have. Once you’ve chosen the perfect venue, the booking process begins. Our specialists will work with you through every step and add any extras on for you, so you won’t need to worry about a thing.

What type of wedding can I have in Cyprus?

You can choose between a Catholic, Anglican or Civil wedding in Cyprus. For the former, your Catholic ceremony must be preceded by a civil wedding ceremony in order to be legally binding in the UK. Additionally, one of you must be Catholic, both of you must be baptised in a Christian church and neither of you may be divorced.

The Anglican Church, however, will accept divorcees, although at least one of you must have been baptised as a Christian.

Civil ceremonies are modern and practical. You will be issued with a marriage certificate immediately after the ceremony, which is recognised worldwide.

Can I pay in instalments?

What should I wear?

If you’re getting married in the hotter months, you might want to avoid bulky, heavy dresses and thick makeup. Take a look at the average temperatures for the time of year you are getting married and be sensible with your attire choices.

Legalities

Marriages performed in Cyprus are legally binding and internationally recognised. Procedures aren’t particularly complex, which is why the destination is so popular for weddings. Below are the important legalities you need to know to ensure your Cyprus wedding runs as smoothly as possible.

There is a minimum residency period of three working days, meaning, if you are having a hotel ceremony, you must stay at the hotel for at least three days prior to your wedding day.

A selection of documents will be required by both the bride and groom, including birth certificates, your passport and a Single Statutory Declaration, which certifies your right to marry. The latter is only available for two months, so make sure you don’t apply for this too early.
